It’s been an age since I selected works for a Photographs on a Friday feature, so to get back into it, this week I’ve chosen three photographs from a friend of mine, Hubert Streng. Hubert is an amateur photographer living in France, who travels extensively and has seen some amazing places around the world.
I’ve known him for some years and an interest in photography and a creative eye for an image has developed strongly in that time. I’m glad that he’s chosen to document some recent travels, as it’s great to share in what friends have seen on their journeys. One of the reasons for choosing these photos is that I hope he will read this and be encouraged to take many more in future!
The three I’ve chosen are from very different countries: the first is from Jabal Shams, Oman, the second is a rich area of wildlife in Ibadan, Nigeria and the third is from a glacial and volcanic region in Iceland, which hit the news headlines in 2010 when the volcano created an ash cloud that spread across Europe and grounded air traffic.
My thanks and gratitude to Hubert for giving permission to share these.
More images can be found on Hubert Streng’s Flickr.

great photography
Thanks for the visit and comment, Jagdish!
welcome
Stunning photographs. What diversity this world of ours has to offer.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoy them too! It is incredible to see such contrasts, all on this one relatively small, planet. How fortunate we are.
