The Addictive Blog Award

With many thanks to the lovely Brownponytail for the nomination for the Addictive Blog Award, it’s my first one of 2013!

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the person awarding you
2. Share a little about why you blog and how the journey started.
3. Paste the blog award on your page.
4. Nominate 10 other bloggers you feel deserve the award.

I first started blogging in 2002 after getting to know a group of people at the writer Jasper Fforde’s Fforum (One of whom has cropped up previously on Photographs on a Friday; I’m looking in you direction, Dave.)

A few of the Fforumites kept journal style blogs on Blurty (does anyone still use that?) and, really, I didn’t have much of clue what it was about. Up to that point I’d mainly been on forums, chat rooms and message boards. It turned out that it was my introduction to something I’ve carried on doing for close on eleven years.

I think I’ve had five or six blogs, I’ve lost count actually, and my writing has been through various different forms and subjects. It’s something that I still enjoy doing, obviously, as self-expression, as way to share interests with others and to take pleasure in words.

The best of all those times, so far, has been here on Imagination is spicy. I love writing for this blog but the important thing, for me, is the chance of communication between bloggers from across the world on all kinds of different subjects. It’s a wonderful experience to share.

Unfortunately the WP reader is playing up today, so I haven’t been able to nominate and link all ten blogs, but here are the first four!
